Today’s Whitianga Summer Concert wrapped up this year’s Summer Concert Tour when 12,000 concert goers added to yesterday’s sold out Taupo and last weekend’s Queenstown crowds, taking in the warm and mainly overcast conditions in the beautiful Coromandel.
As concert goers settled themselves in for an awesome summer’s afternoon of music, New Zealand acts The Drive and The Blind Venetians got the audience warmed up in preparation for the four international artists that were to follow.
With a Coromandel sea breeze, Toni Childs was next to take to stage early afternoon and entertained concert goers with her unmistakable hits , entertaining them with her journey of her musical career with songs including Don’t Walk Away, Stop Your Fussin’ and Zimbabwe. Toni also delighted concert goers when she joined them in the crowd for one of her songs.
Next up, and for the first time in a number of years, the tour has delivered a unique set from James Reyne and Mark Seymour, where they each performed individually and then joined forces to perform their iconic hits such as The Boys Light Up, Reckless, Holy Grail, and Throw Your Arms Around Me, finishing up their NZ tour with an awesome rendition of Talking Heads Psycho Killer.
At finishing up the Whitianga day and tour, another crowd favourite, SUPERTRAMP’s Roger Hodgson along with his full band are on stage performing his formidable repertoire of Supertramp hits including Take The Long Way Home, Breakfast In America, Give A Little Bit and School.
Amanda Calvert, CEO of Greenstone Entertainment says, “The Greenstone Entertainment team and the artists had an amazing time throughout this year’s Summer Concert Tour.
